Luminous Cardinalfish

Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: East Africa to Marshall Islands and New Guinea, north to Japan and south to northern Australia including the Arafura Sea.

Size: 3 inches (6 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits lagoon coastal reefs and hides among corals and rocks during daytime, and usually found at depths between 10 – 300 feet (3 – 90 m) where it feeds on crustaceans/zooplankton during evening hours.

General Husbandry: Has an elongated transparent whitish body that has a reflective whitish belly. As of 2016, not collected for the trade.
