Hi,

I have 20kg of figi live rock, which I have had in a clean dustbin with lid on for the last 18 months due to being without a aquarium as mine sprung a leak. Could you please advise me how to cure this rock (if it can be cured) I would appreciate your help.

Best wishes

Dawn Ash

Hi Dawn,

If the rock was simply allowed to dry and kept dry for these months, they should be soaked in seawater for several weeks, scrubbed lightly in between a couple of times, and the water changed once every week. Finally, before using, test the solution for nitrate or ammonia. If finding none, they could now be used.

Cheers,

Bob
